Ruins Photoshop October 2008
This piece is intended as a reference for an environment artist. I was thinking in terms of an early 20th century European cottage.
I used a 10% gray marker to rough out the image, then penciled in the details (3 hours). It was colored in Adobe Photoshop CS2 (4 hours).
With environment art in my background, I do my best to keep gameplay and functionality in mind. Below are some development notes on the cottage;
